DB Schenker is the logistic partner of the Czech representation at EXPO in Shanghai

The company Schenker has become the logistic partner of the Czech representation at the General World Exhibition EXPO 2010. DB Schenker provides transport of material from the Czech Republic to the Chinese Shanghai.

(Prague, April 19, 2010) DB Schenker has won the tender for the supplier of logistic services for transport of material for the Czech participation at the General World Exhibition EXPO 2010 in Shanghai. DB Schenker will perform important transports of material from the Czech Republic to the place of the world exhibition.

“We are glad that the existing cooperation with DB Schenker proves the high quality which we requested from the logistic partner in the tender. Considering the international importance of the Czech participation at EXPO 2010 we insist on high professionalism of suppliers,“ says the Commissioner General of the Czech Republic representation at the General World Exhibition EXPO 2010 Pavel Antonín Stehlík.

“EXPO is among the most prestigious world exhibitions and with its importance it can be compared only with the Olympic Games. The logistic support of such demanding exhibition requires very much from suppliers. We will use all our experience to arrange all services in time and exactly according to requirements of the customer,“ states Tomáš Holomoucký, the General Manager of Schenker.

Preparation of items for EXPO is in full swing and it will continue during the whole exhibition. “DB Schenker performs a wide range of transports from material deliveries for the background of the Czech pavilion through material provision of associated exhibitions and delivery of technical facilities needed for representation within the Czech national day up to transportation of two bronze  relieves for luck from the statue of St. Jan Nepomucký from the Charles Bridge“ adds Tomáš Holomoucký.

The General World Exhibition EXPO 2010 in Shanghai will start on May 1 and it will last for six months. On May 17, the Czech National Day will be organized in the premises of the exhibition area followed by two associated programmes. The Chinese organizers anticipate 70 million people to visit the exhibition.
