DB Schenker Logistics started operation of the new terminal in Pardubice

(Prague, June 30, 2010) - Today, DB Schenker Logistics started operation of the new terminal in Pardubice. By this step DB Schenker markedly strengthens its presence in the Czech Republic and in eastern Bohemia. In one of the most modern logistics terminals in Europe, DB Schenker will provide comprehensive logistics services for global and national customers. The first customer is the global supplier of welding materials and equipment, ESAB. The new terminal is one of the biggest present development projects in the area and it has a big potential for economic development of not only Pardubice, but also the whole region.

“I am pleased that there was a success in completion of the project after less than two years and to make it going. The new terminal is a marked economic capital investment into development of this region,“ said Tomáš Holomoucký, Managing Director, Schenker spol. s r.o.. “We haven't selected the Pardubice - Semtín locality by random, it is an important transportation node, which lately enjoys a dynamic development of infrastructure and it has an outstanding railway connection,“ added Tomáš Holomoucký.

The importance of the new terminal is testified for instance also by the fact that the ESAB company has in total three central distribution warehouses in the world, and one of them is just in Pardubice. It is used for distribution within the framework of the whole Europe.
